Earlier this year, the age category cut-off date was changed based on feedback from a number of stakeholders. Apologies for any confusion that this may have caused.

For 26 of our sports, the cut-off date is 31 December 2017. For example, if an athlete is 39 during games time, but has turned 40 by the end of the year, they are eligible to compete in the 40+age category.

Athletics and Squash are the only two sports within the World Masters Games 2017 sports programme that have a different age category cut-off date. This date is the 21 April 2017, (the first day of the Games). For example, if a Squash athlete is 39 on the 21st April 2017, they will compete in the 35+ age category for the duration of the Games.
