A number of our sports require the use of bulky equipment that can be tricky to manage when you’re coming by air. Below are a few suggestions that will hopefully help. Please note that if your sport is sailing, rowing or canoe, WMG2017 has boats for hire. Please see the relevant Sports Information Guides for information.

Travelling with your equipment from overseas

Each airline differs and we recommend you contact your airline provider to discuss your options.

If you’re bringing a bike or a golf set on an Air NZ flight, you can find information about this here. For larger sized items on Air NZ, you can find information here. The Air NZ Cargo team do not deal directly with passengers, but Freight Forwarders can.

Two Freight Forwarders that you can also contact are DHL or Mainfreight. Both are international courier companies that should be able to take your equipment from door to door.
