Athlete registrations for World Masters Games 2017 close 3 March 2017 (NZT). You must register by this date if you plan to compete in the Games. Note that disciplines/events will close early if they reach capacity as numbers are strictly limited.
3 March 2017 is also the date by which teams must be registered and have met their minimum athlete numbers including essential non-playing official roles. Team minimums vary by sport and information is detailed in the Sports Information Guide for each sport.
Additional team members over and above team minimums can continue to join existing teams until 31 March 2017 however a late entry fee of $50 will apply.

Proposed Age Categories
Individual Men and Women: 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+
Team Events (3 person teams)
Age is calculated by adding the age of all competitors.
Ages total 90+ years, 110+ years, 130+ years, 150+ years, 170+ years and 190+ years
Team Events (4 person teams)
Ages total 120+ years, 170+ years, 200+ years and 230+ years
Ages total 120+ years, 140+ years, 160+ years, 180+ years, 200+ years, 220+ years, and 240+ years
The age category you will compete in for Surf Life Saving will be determined as at 31 December 2017.
For example, if you are 39 during Games time but have turned 40 by 31 December 2017, you would compete in the 40-44 age category.
Takapuna Beach will host all of World Masters Games 2017 Surf Life Saving events. This competition venue is located just over 9.5km north of Auckland Central.
